 In-charge for managing the engine room staff and carrying out duties of the engine room.
 Assigns duties to all the engine crew members and acts as supervisor to them.
 In-charge of engine room housekeeping and engine room garbage management.
 Responsible for storing all the spares properly and keeping and maintaining record of the spares’ inventory.

 Maintenance on board and during dry docks as chief engineer or superintendent: establish the list of dry dock works and technical survey, assist to class and certification survey for different machine equipments.
