Responsible to the Technical Manager at head office for the planned maintenance of all machinery and inventory of spare parts and of Dry Dock job list preparation, as per company regulations.
All Maintenance tasks are fully planned using Task Assistant software program AMOS W, which shall be kept permanently updated.
Responsible for the duties and training of the other engineering officers and ratings.
Complete monthly statements and inventory of on lube oils, grease and fuel oils.
Complete monthly condition reports on vital equipment.
Samples analysis management.
Carry out engineer officer and ratings assessments.
Ensure that all anti-pollution precautions are undertaken whilst transferring or loading hydrocarbons.
Responsible to the Master for correctly filling in the Oil Record Book.

Responsible to make sure all the machineries and safety systems are working safely, efficiently and within the provided parameters.
Planned maintenance system (PMS) is to be implemented by the second engineer and in case of any breakdown maintenance (BMS), should be immediately taken care of by him.
Provide utmost assistance to the Chief engineer for running the ship efficiently.
In-charge of all the operational engineers and the crew of the engine room.
Ensure for their personnel safety and routine duties.
Plans the overall maintenance of all the machinery present in the ship’s engine room.
Responsible for risk assessment, briefing and safety training of the entire engine crew, especially for the junior engineers and fresh crew.

Responsible for all the emergency machinery and equipment under SOLAS.
Take care about the rest hour of all the individual working in the engine room as per STCW.
In-charge of Pollution prevention equipment onboard like OWS, Sewage plant, etc.
Responsible for all oil transfer operations carried out onboard including bunkering.
In-charge for managing the engine room staff and carrying out duties of the engine room.
Assigns duties to all the engine crew members and acts as supervisor to them.
In-charge of engine room housekeeping and engine room garbage management.
Responsible for storing all the spares properly and keeping and maintaining record of the spares’ inventory.
